South African College of Music
The South African College of Music, founded one hundred years ago, offers world class performances of African and Western Classical music, jazz and opera on a weekly basis throughout the academic year. The concerts take place on Tuesday evenings, with occasional concerts at the weekends.
All details are correct at the time of going to press. The South African College of Music reserves the right to alter programmes or replace soloists as may become necessary, but will endeavour to give notice in the media and on various websites of such changes.
Tickets are available at Computicket and at the door 45 minutes before the concert starts.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the weekly performers’ classes and lunchtime concerts which take place every Wednesday at 2 pm and Thursday at 1 pm respectively during the academic term. Admission is free, and the concerts fit neatly into 40 minutes.
Friends of the College are offered 15 vouchers for R495. This works out to a considerable saving of R33 per ticket. Pro rata tickets may then be purchased at R33 each.

SACM JAZZ FESTIVAL

This annual SACM Jazz Festival features the UCT Big Band and other groups from the Jazz Programme. Also featuring Mike Campbell, Andrew Lilley, Mike Rossi, Jason Reolon, Amanda Tiffin with various groups and special guest artists, including German pianist Patrick Bebelaar and students from the Stuttgart Conservatory of Music, Germany.

A competition for solo classical piano playing, in honour of the late Olive Lieberz-Theron, to award prize money from the Ultimate Wellness Trust. This competition is open to all piano performance students at the SACM who are intending to pursue a career in piano playing.
