Jannie has had extensive experience in chamber music, accompaniment, solo performance and music teaching. He holds Music degrees from the University of Pretoria, Rice University (USA) and UNISA. After the huge success of their previous productions of Pergolesi’s La Serva Padrona and Rossini’s La Scala di Seta, the Richard Wagner Society of South Africa will once again present an opera at the South Easter Festival in Cape Town at the end of January 2011.
The opera to be staged is one of Richard Wagner’s early, but much loved works, Der fliegende Holländer (The flying Dutchman).
The main solo cast of the opera consists of a soprano, a mezzo-soprano, two tenors, a baritone and a bass. True to the philosophy of the society, young South African opera singers will be engaged as soloists.
Any singer interested to be part of this first production of a Wagner-opera by the Richard Wagner Society of South Africa, is invited to do an audition. At the audition each singer will be expected to present two arias from the nineteenth century opera repertoire. An accompanist will be provided.

The Mamela Music Project is a musical NGO assisting with musical development of learners in Manenberg for the past 17years. Up till now Mamela has been successful in developing the musical talents of both primary and high school learners, as well as the broader community, which would otherwise have gone wasted.
Initially we received funding from overseas but this has been discontinued due to their funding policy to fund up to a maximum of three years. Local funding has also diminished.
We are now seeking assistance from music teachers and fundraisers to help us continue our work in Manenberg and surrounding areas. The following teachers are needed: piano, keyboards, guitar, recorder, choir, percussion, brass and theory of music.

St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Tamboerskloof is desperate for a pianist / organist / keyboard player to assist them with the Sunday morning service. There seems to be a shortage of keyboard players in that area.
They are offering to pay for petrol and also a small fee on top of that.

I am looking for an old copy of Songs Unspoken sheet music book. It
was probably published around 1990. It may have been put out by Narada but
sold to Meadowlark. It was then sold again and was never reprinted. It is
