Inviting Musicians to Compose and Perform for Biodiversity

2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity and Conservation and Kirstenbosch will be holding its 3rd Biodiversity Expo from Thursday 25 March to Sunday 28 March 2010.

For years conservationists have explored how best to communicate the value of Biodiversity to the people of South Africa. In 2010, we would like to use Art and Music to do so.

Through the Cape Town Academy of Music we would like to invite teachers, students, musicians, young and old, to compose and/or to play “environmentally themed” music for this event.

To participate please send details to: Avril Kinsey at the Cape Town Academy of Music
at: akinsey@mweb.co.za

St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Tamboerskloof is desperate for a pianist / organist / keyboard player to assist them with the Sunday morning service. There seems to be a shortage of keyboard players in that area.

They are offering to pay for petrol and also a small fee on top of that.

If anyone feels that they can give up an early Sunday morning to play a few hymns, the person to contact is;

I am looking for an old copy of Songs Unspoken sheet music book. It was probably published around 1990. It may have been put out by Narada but sold to Meadowlark. It was then sold again and was never reprinted. It is piano solos by Douglas Trowbridge (Richard Souther). I still have the old CD but would really like to learn these songs but I am not quite good enough to figure them by ear.

If you can help, please contact Randy Schermerhorn - rlscherm@comcast.net
